World Book Day celebrations

It’s World Book Day tomorrow (Thursday, March 2) and we’ve got a whole host of exciting activities planned to celebrate books and reading.

The highlight will be a lesson by lesson story telling session. At the start of every class, the teacher will read an excerpt from the Roald Dahl short story ‘The Landlady.’ This means the story will gradually become clear throughout the day – and by the last lesson, students may discover that not everything was quite as they thought!

Mr Core’s Crazy Book Quiz will see students invited to guess how many pages are in Mr Core’s book, how fast he can read and how many pages he has read. Entry is free and there’s a ¬£20 book token for the winner.

There will also be a “Bookydip” in the library, where the first 10 visitors can chose a mystery book from the lucky dip box and there¬†will be book recommendation posters up throughout the school, urging students to discover a new author.
