Intrepid duo prepare for next charity challenge

Two of St Aldhelm’s charity champions are preparing for their next challenge – 12 hours in a kayak.

Bethany Bullock and Amy White, who are both in Year 10, abseiled down the cliff face at Portland in the summer to raise almost £400 for charity.

And now they are planning to follow that up with a 12 hour kayakathon next year.

The pair hope to raise several hundred pounds for Macmillan Cancer Support and Great Ormond Street Hospital. Both charities are close to their hearts – Bethany’s brother travels regularly to Great Ormond Street Hospital for treatment and Amy has lost several relatives to cancer.

Amy said: “The fundraising is a lot of fun, we really enjoy it. I recently lost an uncle to cancer and it was a real help to be able to focus on something positive.”

And Bethany said: “We’re really pleased with the amount of money we’ve raised so far and just hope to add to it as much as we can.”
