Theatre group bring hard-hitting production to St Aldhelm’s

Year 9 students were encouraged to think about the harsh reality of homelessness when Zest Theatre brought their performance and interactive workshop to school.

The four-strong cast performed ‘Until It’s Gone,’ a hard-hitting production based on the true-life stories of homeless young people. It follows Craig, a 17-year-old who thinks he has it all, but whose life changes when he decides to leave home before he’s ready.

With nowhere to go, he quickly realises that real life isn’t as easy as he first thought and his homelessness leads to desperation, drugs and relationship breakdown.

The show is in its 10th year of touring and has been performed to more than 70,000 young people across the country, The performance was followed by an interactive workshop where students were challenged to think about various issues including relationship breakdown, teenage pregnancy, alcohol and substance misuse, rough sleeping, sex and relationships.
