St Aldhelm’s students spread Christmas cheer across community

St Aldhelm’s Academy teamed up with Faithworks Wessex for the second year in a row to spread some Christmas cheer.

The charity, which helps carers and older people stay connected with their community, approached St Aldhelm’s in 2016 to see if we could lay on a Christmas event for some of their clients.

And the first event was such a success that Faithworks Wessex were keen to book in a repeat performance!

Around 30 people came into the academy on Wednesday, December 13 to watch a preview of our Christmas concert ‘Bring out the stars at Christmas.’ This festive extravaganza included song and dance performances, as well as a mini Robin Hood pantomime.

Thanks to the generosity of the Co-op stores in Good Road and Alder Road, Sainsbury’s Talbot Heath and Waitrose Parkstone, students were able to serve our guests with mince pies and biscuits during the intermission.

We are looking forward to welcoming Faithworks Wessex back to St Aldhelm’s in the summer when we will be staging our version of ‘Beauty and the Beast.’
